MIT calls its early admits on the phone to congratulate them… why doesn’t everyone? يدعو معهد ماساتشوستس للتكنولوجيا في وقت مبكر يعترف على الهاتف لتهنئتهما… لماذا لا الجميع؟

MIT has an معهد ماساتشوستس للتكنولوجيا له early action telethon العمل المبكر حملة التبرعات عبر التلفزيون , where current students call every one of the early action admits and congratulate them! حيث الحالية الطلاب تدعو الى كل واحد من أوائل العمل يعترف واهنئهم! It’s during IAP so everyone at MIT has lots of free time, conceivably. ومن خلال ذلك iap الجميع في معهد ماساتشوستس للتكنولوجيا وقد وجد الكثير من وقت الفراغ ، ومن المتصور. Do other schools do this? لا يختلف عن غيره من المدارس ان تفعل هذا؟ If yours doesn’t… why not? اذا يدكم لا… لماذا لا؟ I know MIT has fewer early admits than most (fewer than 400 students) but all the same, it shouldn’t be too hard logistically to accomplish something like that. انا اعرف معهد ماساتشوستس للتكنولوجيا أقل ، في وقت مبكر اكثر مما يعترف (اقل من 400 طالب) ولكن كل نفس ، وأنه لا ينبغي أن يكون من الصعب جدا لوجستيا لإنجاز شيء من هذا القبيل.

This is a great way to produce more warm fuzzy feelings about your school. هذه هي طريقة راءعه لانتاج مزيد من المشاعر الدافءه ضبابي عن مدرستك. I don’t think MIT has any problem with yields, but this can’t hurt. لا اعتقد ان اي معهد ماساتشوستس للتكنولوجيا وقد المشكلة مع الغله ، ولكن هذا لا يمكن ان تؤذي.

Harvard doesn’t do anything especially personal for its early admits. هارفارد لم يفعل اي شيء وخاصة الشخصيه ليعترف فى وقت مبكر. But then again,why on earth would it ولكن بعد ذلك مرة أخرى ، لماذا على الارض من شأنه ان bother تضايق ? ؟
You should know, Sam, that when Yale does ring you up next week, it’s got nothing to do with you. عنايتك ، سام ، وانه عندما ييل هل انت الطوق حتى الاسبوع المقبل ، وانها حصلت لا علاقة معكم. Universities bribe their early admits to try to keep their yield as high as possible, so that they look good in the next year’s college rankings. الجامعات رشوة الأولى من حياتهم يعترف لمحاولة الابقاء على غلة مرتفعة قدر المستطاع ، حتى انها تبدو جيدة فى العام القادم كلية التصنيف. It’s not a nice feeling, but you’re a pawn in انها ليست جميلة الاحساس ، ولكن كنت في البيدق the college admissions numbers game كلية الاعترافات لعبة الارقام , a game that Yale and every other school plays to win. ، لعبة ان كل ييل وغيرها من المسرحيات المدرسية الى الفوز.
And as for the friendly soul who’s calling you, they’ve given their time either in exchange for beer money, or to help themselves confirm their own decision to attend Yale or MIT or whatever. وكما لديه من روح 'sداعيا لكم ، ونظرا لأنهم قد ارسلنا وقتهم إما في تبادل لالجعه المال ، او ليساعدوا أنفسهم لما تقرره هي تأكيد لحضور ييل او معهد ماساتشوستس للتكنولوجيا او ايا كان. If you choose Yale over another college, then they have a little extra reason to feel good about themselves. اذا اخترت كلية ييل اكثر من آخر ، ثم لديهم القليل من سبب اضافي لتشعر جيدة عن انفسهم. Ivy Leaguers don’t like seeing their schools sag in the rankings any more than their administrators do. اللبلاب اعضاء لا يحبون رؤية مدارسهم الضعف في ترتيب أي أكثر من مديريها يفعل.

Harvard does call early admits. هارفارد هل يعترف الكلمه في وقت مبكر. I personally haven’t gotten a call yet, but tons of early admits have gotten calls from students for a chat, any questions, etc. انا شخصيا لم بدأت الدعوة حتى الآن ، ولكن طن من يعترف قد بدأت فى وقت مبكر من يدعو الطلاب للمحادثة ، اي اسءله ، الخ.

Gadfly– my objective is to get more schools doing nice things for students using the implicit motivation, as you described, of higher yields. ذبابه الخيل - بلادي الهدف هو الحصول على مزيد من المدارس تفعل أشياء لطيفة لطلاب باستخدام الضمني الدافع ، كما وصفت لكم ، من مردود اعلى. A fair number of college admissions / marketing people read my blog and I figure maybe a few of them haven’t implemented these kinds of programming… but it looks like it might be universal these days, who knows! عدد لا بأس به من القبول في كلية / تسويق شعب بلادي اقرأ بلوق وانا الرقم ربما عدد قليل منها لم ينفذ هذا النوع من البرمجه… ولكن يبدو انه قد يكون من الجميع هذه الايام ، من يدري! I’d just never heard of anything besides the MIT offering. انا فقط لم يسمع اي شىء من معهد ماساتشوستس للتكنولوجيا الى جانب عرض.
