Hey, new word to characterize a term I think about! Thanks :) and thanks for reading! I often find myself smiling on friday afternoons when I get the TargetX messages because you're often pretty spot on. Sometimes not, and I try to call you on those times... ;)

Sam:
I've been a reader of you brilliant blog and just wanted to say kudos on this topic. In the emerging experience economy "aesthetics" matter, but what you're really talking about is the "esthetic" or sense of place. I tour and consult with about 3-5 colleges a month and most are guilty of tunnel vision when it comes to the prospective family/student "experience."

Ah. I wasn't crazy about the Georgetown approach, just because it didn't help the dry feel I got from some other things there. By the way, if you want any help with your blog (just read: http://muntinsquares.blogspot.com/2007/09/starting.html ) let me know!

Thinking about it, my experience would not have been representative, since I only went to the sessions at Northwestern and Georgetown, additionally. Oops. All the sessions at Exeter don't use ppt's.

So your PowerPoint experience was universally a good thing? I only had a few ppt presentations. Where did they have them? Anyway, the best presentations I saw would only have been subverted by slides, electronic or not. Tote bags do rock, though.

JHU gave out tote bags when I went on a campus tour this summer. :) However, it was also the only college info session I went to on campus that did not use a powerpoint presentation.
