Two weekends ago I was in New York because I was part of a panel about “Admissions in the Internet Age.” My part was a very compressed summary of my general admissions-internet-teenagers philosophy with some examples of blogs and other online tools which appeal to students and are also great for schools.两个周末前，我是在纽约举行的，因为我当时的一个组成部分，小组关于“招生在网络时代， ”我的一部分，是一个非常压缩的概要，我一般招生-互联网-青少年哲学与一些例子，博客和其他网上工具呼吁学生和也有很大的学校。 I said I would try to talk about “bridging the gap” between students and admissions offices / counselors where the internet is concerned.我说我会尝试谈“弥合”之间的学生和招生办事处/辅导员，而互联网是关注。 There were a lot of great questions afterwards and the panel as a whole did a really good job; I could praise my co-panelists for ages but instead I’ll just move on and talk about my reactions… to the audience reactions?有很多伟大的问题之后，该小组作为一个整体，没有一个真正的好;我可以赞美我的合作，为小组成员的年龄，而是我将刚才的举动，并谈谈我的反应… …以观众的反应呢？

Reasons for Optimism: 乐观的理由：

1. More people from more places are interested in adopting new tools in new ways to reach students and connect. 更多的人从更多的地方有兴趣在采用新的工具，以新的方式，以达到学生和连接。

Reasons for hair-pulling frustration: 原因头发拉的挫折感：

1. Too little, too slow, too late–too conservative generally!实在太少，太慢，为时已晚-过于保守，一般！ Too little to achieve the full effect in many cases of adoption, too slow and too late to help out a lot of students today , and too conservative generally for reasons obvious to longtime readers of the blog.太少，以达到充分的效果，在许多情况下通过，太缓慢，为时已晚，帮助了很多学生的今天 ，和过于保守，普遍的原因，有目共睹的长期读者的博客。
