[...] I just wanted to share this little slideshow from the New York Times about Heshun, which has been rated in the past the “most charmful village in China.” It’s definitely very charmful, though the NYT slideshow does not do it justice. Still, it’s fun to see the Times validate the charm of someplace that we visited during our trip to Yunnan. [...]

So far things have not been too humid here in Beijing - in Yunnan, it was sometimes rather humid, but was mostly just on the hot side. Beijing also was pretty hot though. Beijing is a lot like Boston-area weather (except less variable) only, hotter. So hotter summers, and milder winters, if by a little. So this September started very hot, and now is more acceptable - today I was able to wear jeans, etc. Yunnan was mountainous as well, so at night it got a bunch chillier sometimes. But pretty nice when we were there!
